I have been working for the past couple of days to get a weeks worth of work done so that I can get away to BYU Women’s Conference tomorrow through the weekend. So, I am plum tuckered out. Randon volunteered to help Charis do the dishes tonight so that I can get some other things done.
As I am listening to them working together in the kitchen, I hear Charis telling her daddy (in her 5 year old voice and the attitude of a much older child) ‘NO! I’ll do that!” or “not that way Daddy!” and even “I am going to put those away!” Randon attempts to debate the point with her but she is unwilling to bend. It is absolutely hillarious!! Not only is she strong willed and insistent but she really loves helping with the dishes, and knows just what she is doing.
Charis always asks if she can do the dishes, even when it is not her turn. Everyone is happy to have her help because she sings and is very motivated. She is such a happy worker. She is a huge ray of sunshine always but most especially at chore time. Thanks baby.

I am going out on a limb and I am going to say that this would only happen in a small town church or any LDS one. This particular scenario took place in our very own congregation this very day. I have to say that I brought this on myself but still, I was SHOCKED by this.
So it all started yesterday when I was doing hair. I was done and had a lot of bleach left over. In walks Randon. He says “hey, you should do some highlights in my hair”. “Good idea”, I think, I had done this before to him and Scott. So, I do. Well, it turns out really funky, I will be the first to admit it. I could tell you the how’s and why’s of that but you would loose intrest. I wanted to try and fix it, make it lighter, but Randon would not have it. He let me cut it much shorter though. We all start laughing histerically at how it turned out. We had a lot of fun with it, laughed all day long.
So Sunday…. Today was Randon’s high council meeting with the 12 high councelors and the stake presidency. They all give him a hard time and joke about his new do. The high councelor who is speaking in our ward says that he is going to introduce Randon as the new high councelor in our ward today before his talk, ha ha (his tone, sarcastic). So we get to church and the companion speaker of the high councelor does not show up. This leaves our speaker with a whole lot of time to take up. So he begins, FROM THE PULPIT, introducing Randon as the new high councelor and going on and on about his hair. “….But we all know it really isn’t his fault…. My son did that once when he was 16, but he was 16!… I should have brought my sunglasses today if I’d known there was going to be such a bright spot up front here..” and on and on, I seriously think he was ‘taking up time’ for at least 5 min. on this thing (what is this guy a stand up comedian?!). I am trying hard not to cry from laughter, hiding my face as I try to keep it together. Randon is laughing so hard next to me as well as the whole congregation. Can you say public humiliation?
So we all got a good laugh. I am not going to live this thing down… And not suprisingly the shameless teasing lasted through every minute of the 3 hours of church… and after. I can only hope that this will slow down the rush of clients I currently am trying to keep up with.
So here is the link to the picture of Randon, feel free to take all of the jabs you want. But just for the record, I think it is really fun, in a crazy hair sort of way. http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnsonfamilydish/2429593349/

Kelcie has found her sport. She has tried every sport that her school has to offer this year and here is how she felt about them:
Basketball- doesn’t like because you have to depend on your team mates to do thier part.
Track- Loved track because she could achieve independently. Distances are hard but she is trying to work up to them. She loves hurdles. Doesn’t like relays, same reason as basketball.
Volleyball- She did not really like volleyball at all.
Soccer- She LOVES!! She gets to play with Ku’Uipo and she loves it. She loves the coach, who she finds funny and encouraging. She also likes it when they play co-ed soccer. We went out and bought all of her shin guards, cleats, long socks and a soccer ball.
So, I think we have a winner. She has found the sport she likes the most. This is good because she isn’t really into music like her sibblings, Scott and Morgan. I am glad that she has found something that challenges her and helps her to work hard for something she loves. I think this sport suits her high energy best. Although, I would like a running partner and I think running teaches you a lot of patience with yourself so I am still going to encourage her to cultivate that too. Heck she has long legs and is built like a runner, unlike her mother.
*I will post some pictures of her playing as soon as I figure out how to do that, my web master, aka Bill, has made some changes with my blog and I haven’t figured them out yet.

Some of my readers will remeber this post from last July.
Those darn spots have reappeared! Randon pointed this out to me this morning. It is just a sign of some sort of viral infection I have going on in my body right now but, I am not happy to see them, they are very scary to me.
Taking extra vitamins today.

It was so hot yesterday, 98 degrees! A reminder that summer is coming fast! We have started making our plans for summer.
Hesper and Cameron are flying out here on the 22nd of May. Then next day we will all be headed to Rocky Point to lounge on the beach with the Gray’s until the day after Memorial day. We can hardly wait! The kids love the ocean more than Disneyland so it will be a nice reward for a year of very hard work in school. I am looking forward to reading a few books, laying on the beach, finding shells with my kids and chasing the waves with them too. I can’t wait to go to the pier where the fish have just been plucked out of the ocean and enjoy them with my family and dear friends.
Cameron will be spending the summer with us. The kids and I will be taking a road trip to bring Cameron home at the end of July. We will be stopping in El Paso to see Aunt Heather & our new Uncle Steven and then making a trip to San Antonio to see the Alamo and the river walk. I love San Antonio so I am excited to take the kids to see sights. Randon will not be joining us on the trip to return Cameron, sadly. So, who knows how sane I will be after 18 hours in the car with 6 kido’s. I am confident it will be fun!

Unfortunately the stress level has been incredibly high in the Johnson household lately, so there is not much positive to share that is nice or light. There are always happy things going on amid the stress, they are just lesser in # right now.

They have been missing for over a month now. I really miss them. My Momma says I look cute with them gone but, I talk really funny without them and eating is tricky. If you see them, please call Addi.

Lisa and Charles were maried last weekend in Las Vegas, WOO HOO!! Lisa, I know that you are dying that I am posting this (you and your no attention on me please ways). But, I am using some of my older sister super powers and putting it on my blog, just ignore it if you have to.
Anyway, Randon and I were lucky enough to attend her ceremony there. We really like Charles and are so happy to welcome him into our family. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
As a side note, my littlest sister, Heather, called last week to tell me that she tied the knot on March 20th. This means that all of my sisters and I celebrate our wedding anniversaries in March, including Hesper! How funny is that? And 3 of them in the same year even? It will sure make remembering those notable dates easier.
