Addi’s Baptism

These will be going out in the mail (possibly e-mail too). I know that some of our readers, friends, and family members need lots of time to plan for big events like this. So here is your heads up! Not sure what we will serve for that promised dinner but Addi will help out with that plan.

Boys Will Be Boys

The boys (Randon, Scott, and our friend Tim) went up to my dad’s cabin this last weekend and went 4×4ing with Uncle Jason. They also went fishing and just had some male bonding; you know eating fast food for every meal and talking endlessly about mechanical things and vehicle (if you can call them that) modifications.

Scott passed off his Traveler Requirement for Webelos on this trip. :) As a side note, he is doing really well with his Webelos, we have been working hard complete as many requirements as we can. He is working right now on the Engineer Requirement and built a catapult yesterday. He just needs to talk to an engineer, so watch out if that is your profession, we may be calling!

Back on topic, here are some 4×4ing photos of Jason (Randon’s brother, not mine) driving through the cracks or little Moab. These pictures are extreme to normal people, but tame for my boys. Scott reports that they almost tipped; yep, typical for them.

Yep. Boys will be boys. :)

Scott, Student of the Month!

This little boy has waited a very long time for this day!! He has never been student of the month. We here are all so proud of him for working so hard this year!!

So Today…

Randon goes to pick Kelcie up at the public library, where she is volunteering for a couple of hours each Sat., and he can’t find her. So he goes to the main desk and asks for her. He then turns around and thinks he sees her but he is not sure because, as he says “I have never seen her sit still before!” He walked up and asked her if she was feeling okay.

I reflected upon that and found some startling truth. She has always been “high maintenance”, especially as an infant, I just never thought of it in just that way before.

I walked into the garage to see my husband a son working on a car together. “Scott, hand me the 3/8th’s wratchet. Will you take this to the other wheel and tighten those bolts with this?” And there was our son “yeah dad”. And not only doing it but, he actually knew what he was talking about. Daddy pays Scott to help him. Watching them both working together, it was like some Norman Rockwell painting, only come to life. And it was so fun to watch.

Charis and Addi have finally cleaned their room, thank goodness!! I turned on the “Enchanted Soundtrack” on the iPod while we worked. Charis has been singing “The Happy Cleaning Song” all day since.

Morgan has had a very tough day, unfortunately, hopefully it will improve now. Daddy and I are taking her out for some one on one time in a couple of hours.

These are the things I love about being a mother (excepting Morgan’s bad day). Our family feels we must celebrate the small things, and happy moments. That is what becomes the bulk of our lives and those funny stories we will tell about eachother someday. :)

Our Girl

I am so proud of this child that last night at her induction ceremony it was all I could do to keep from crying. I know it is silly but, I am her mother, certainly there are allowances for silly if you are the mom. She looks so happy and beautiful in this picture.

National Juniors Honor Society

I know that it is obnoxious to brag so, try not to consider this bragging but, Kelcie was invited to join the NJHS and she wrote the necessary essay explaining why she should be accepted, and SHE WAS! We are all jumping for Joy for her! The NJHS at her school takes a trip to Disneyland in the spring so she will be joining them.

You just keep going Kelcie!!!

Magic Pony Party

Having our pony picnic and games.

We called them the “Jolly Ranchers”, our big girl party helpers. They wanted a mane & tail too. Here they are showing off their cute tails. (Lani & Morgan BFF.)

Here are the “Jolly Ranchers” at the craft table. They helped the little ponies make a magic wand.

Abby, one of the beautiful magic ponies.

The best daddy in the world, making cotton candy for all of the ponies.

Kara, one of the smaller ponies enjoying her cupcake. They were so DARN CUTE!!

All of the little ponies, and the jolly ranchers. :)

Isn’t she beautiful?!!

We all had so much fun planning and preparing for this party! It was so fun to see all of the girls having such a good time together. It seemed they did not want to leave. When it was all done we were all pooped!

Happy Birthday my baby.

Thoughts on 35

(Randon caught me hammin’ it up, he loves to do that)

Never before has age bothered me, and I can’t say that it really bothers me now. I have always looked at age like “I’m getting older which just means better. More experience, more knowledge and wisdom, and all of the good things that go along with that.” I liked the sound of 34. I don’t like the sound of 35 and when one of my dearest friends jokingly said I am just closer to 40 now, I chided her for being so insensitive. What is that about?! So hopefully 35 will grow on me and I will not be so adverse to the idea of 35. If only I could return to my original state of mind where age only made me better, I think I will.

Some of my goals for this year:
*Run the 1/2 marathon again in Feb. ‘09
*Qualify for the Honors Program @ school
*Plan and participate in my girls’ Stake Girls Camp (I was asked to serve as the Stake Assistant Camp Director today, I accepted :) The girls and I are both thrilled!!)
*Ace my math class in the spring
*Come to grips with 35

It’s gonna be another great year!

Charis’ 6th Birthday

Neither Randon nor I can believe our baby girl is 6!!! We had a really fun party for her on her birthday which I will write more about later and post pict’s here. The little girls were so cute, they were all magic pony’s, and adorable. You can see a few of the picts @ our flickr account (see the link in the blogroll if you just can’t stand the wait).

Also I will blog about my own birthday and my thoughts @ turning 35. When I have some time that is. ;)
